"The Waterfall" by Sandy Wager (SandWag)
From the Artist: I did not enjoy making this at first!
It was a total mess and I did not know where it was going. It took over a week to complete, and another week to dry (that is a long time for me!) but have loved the result! It was a very messy job too, like going back to childhood art class!
It is 20"x16" on cotton canvas and almost 500 ml of paint were used. (It's too heavy now for a frame so I need to glue it to a strong board.)
I used cling film (food wrap) for the sky and the water.
The upper greenery is made of iron-on hemming web(dressmakers). The cliff face and lower greenery is made of textured paint. I painted everything over with acrylics. Sorry, I could not afford new wet stuff!
I am so very pleased with the outcome that I plan to make more of these.
From the Painting Guide: I hope you patted yourself on the back for persevering with the painting, because if you had given up as you weren't enjoying it initially you wouldn't have had the journey of discovery and creativity that you did, nor end up with an outcome you're pleased about.
