How to Match Paint Colors on a 1963 Corvette

    • 1). Locate the paint code label. This is located underneath the dashboard, just beneath the glove compartment. You will see a series of codes and letters indicating other things besides the paint code, but don't be intimidated. Look for a three-digit number, standing alone, that indicates the paint code. It will be one of seven codes, including 900 (Tuxedo Black), 912 (Silver Blue), 916 (Daytona Blue), 923 (Riverside Red), 932 (Saddle Tan), 936 (Ermine White) or 941 (Sebring Silver).

    • 2). Record the paint code. Match the code to the list of available color names. Locate the nearest auto parts retailer. They will look up the paint by the year, make, model, paint code and paint name you supply them with. If the paint is not in stock, they can special order it.

    • 3). Perform a basic search of auto paint stores online. These websites usually have extensive database search tools that can easily match your paint with the information supplied to the auto parts store. Match the color code and name to receive the correct paint.
