Computer Registry Cleaners - Do You Really Need One?
Registry cleaners were not considered an important computer maintenance tool before the operating systems became so enormous and complex.
This was before the evolution of operating systems brought us to Windows XP and Windows Vista.
Of course, viruses have been a concern for a long time and so was spyware to a certain degree.
However, corruption in the registry wasn't a term that was bandied about very much until relatively recently.
Registry Hives Windows registries are made up of 5 file structures known as hives.
The newer operating systems, namely XP and Vista have 5 hives.
Older operating systems had 6 hives.
Of course, the hives in the older OS's weren't nearly as complicated as those making up the operating systems we now use.
In other words, Windows XP and Vista have 5 hives doing the job of 6 and each hive is bigger than the entire registry that composed Windows 95! What is Registry Corruption? Corrupted registry files are inaccurate or incomplete registry files that send the operating system on missions to nowhere.
Because of this, corrupted operating system registries make the operating system carry out bad instructions before the OS realizes it cannot complete the assignment.
After realizing it had been working in vain, the operating system must find the next correct instruction on its own.
This means the operating system will be spending time non-productively.
All this extra work the operating system must do because of registry corruption, make computer operations go slowly.
This is bad enough but a large amount of corruption will make an operating system incapable of performing all its operations and crashes will occur! Bigger Files Systems - Bigger Slowdowns The fact there are more files in the new operating systems as opposed to the older ones is one reason registry corruption causes more trouble than it used to.
Files that become corrupted in the registry can errantly send the operating system looking in many more wrong places for its next instruction than they could in smaller OS's.
When an operating system does look in wrong places for an instruction it wastes computer resources while doing so.
In other words, registry corruption wastes time.
With smaller operating systems, chances are there will be less corruption and the OS will have an easier time detecting what files are corrupt and what ones are not.
Of course, when an operating system detects a file as corrupt, it will not pay any attention to its instructions.
Larger operating systems have a more difficult time doing this.
Yes, You Really Should Use a Registry Cleaner So, you can see registry cleaners are a really useful computer maintenance tool these days.
Though a computer operator still must keep the PC free of viruses and spyware if he or she wants to keep the computer fast, it is registry corruption that is now the single biggest threat to a computer's speed.
In this day and age, most everyone has virus and malware protection, but many are not protected against the dangers of registry corruption.
For this reason, I am finding more and more computers in my shop due to registry corruption than all other computer problems.
The fact is, if all computers owners were using registry cleaners regularly, they would avoid needing the services of people like me so often.
So, I guess I must be a really nice guy because I recommend registry cleaners to all my customers lately.
