Challenging the Status Quo of the Underprivileged and House Helper’S Legal Rights
Philippines might have been one of the so-called Developing and or Third World Country, and is known for having a poor sanitize airports. The mentioned fact and clich© started after former President Ferdinand Marcos' regime, where corruption became rampant, economy fell, and several other socio-political diseases came into existence. Decades after, changes are severely noticeable. The Congress composed of Congressmen and Senators are deemed participating and working hard to overhaul the not so good notion of the Country. Early this year, several laws have been passed protecting the rights of the House helpers, resolving the issue of overpopulation through the Reproductive Health Bill, and a statute increasing the tax per cigarette stick.

Furthermore, in case of violation, the punishment is exemplary in terms of amount of fees, fines, and it can both, depends upon the severity of the wrongful action. Democracy is tantamount to freedom but not absolute. The sovereign people, as provided by the Constitution, are free to select and elect their leaders. It further delegates such power for the upper and lower house to pass bills resolving concerns of national interest among others. The noble ordinance is proven to be working in the said City, unfortunately, is not in the cosmopolitan. It is of the writer's opinion that the bill was not able to achieve its goal "Government Warning: Tobacco Smoke Can Harm Your Children." For the reason that, tobacco companies are resorting to innovations to keep the status quo of earning the same net sales, by coursing through re-branding. The cigarette might be as unconscionable in amount but might still be viable beyond imagination. This might be because of our current competitive surrounding, where everyone is into the survival of the fittest in achieving the ladder of success and fame.

Principle of Human Rights provides equality among human being and avoidance of illicit act of discrimination, that everyone should observe respect regardless of Gender, Age, and Colour. A common violation exists on maltreating house helpers. Thus, as to their protection, the Congress passed a bill providing better labour benefits; for example, employees should be enrolling them to such government benefits like Social Security System among others. Moreover, the employee shall pay the house helper's SSS dues without deducting it to their monthly salary, however that might be a case to case basis depending upon the latter's salary.
