Starcraft II Warp Gate Strategy Guide
The gateway is something that's great to use, and the warpgate is the evolved form of the stargate.
Of course you can change the warpgate back to a stargate, but the warpgate is a nice structure that you want to use to gain a nice advantage ahead of your opponents starting today! The great thing about a warp gate is that it can actually warp in any type of unit that lies within a psionic matrix.
Proxy Pylon Technology One thing that is used is something that is known as the proxy pylon technology.
What players are beginning to do is to actually place the pylon in the center of the map.
This way it is in a neutral location where it probably won't be picked up by the enemy.
By doing this, the traveling time from one place to another will not be that long.
You can simply use the warp pylon and have your units travel relatively fast to attack your opponent; so it really helps a lot in that aspect.
Something that is important to know however, is if you are trying warp in units and the pylon is destroyed, that you will actually lose those units, although you'll gain them back in resources.
But all you have to do is to select a warp gate, press the hotkey to create that unit, press the area in the psionic matrix in which you want that protoss unit to warp into, and there you go.
Sure you can not queue your units while using warpgate, but they are built much faster, and you can send them directly to psionic matrices around your map! Dark Templar Strategy Warping in dark templars is a nice strategy that many people are beginning to use as well.
It's incredible for defending your own expansions, harassing enemy expansions, etc.
One thing that could be wise for you to do is to actually pick off expansions and to destroy your enemies economy without them even knowing you're there.
