Is Article Marketing Really That Effective?

Article marketing can be very effective if done properly.
It should be part of a cohesive plan for developing your website.
It should not be a standalone measure.
If you use it alone without understanding it properly then it is not likely to give you the kind of results you are looking for.
When used properly though, it can be very effective.
Here are a few things to think about.
Your article marketing campaign should be part of larger plan to market your website.
It works very well for websites that are adding new content and growing in size steadily.
It will not work as well for sites that are never adding new content and never updated.
The search engines like to see new content that earns links back to it.
When they see that they know that the content is of a higher value.
That is the kind of content that they want to show in their search results.
When a website is growing by adding new pages to it on a regular basis, an article marketing campaign can ensure that those new pages get indexed and stay indexed in Google.
That makes those pages gain more and more power over time.
As the site gets larger and larger it will become easier and easier to get its pages to rank well in the search results.
This is even true if that new page doesn't get any links from any outside sources.
It will be boosted from the internal power of the other pages on that site as well as the power of the links that point to those other pages.
There is no cleaner and easier way to get links to your internal pages that don't look like spam.
There are other ways to get links, but pretty much any method of doing it looks like spam.
It looks perfectly natural to have uniquely written articles of decent quality referencing your new pages.
Those articles can be made even more effective if the author engages in a little self promotion.
The more the author promotes their own articles, the more beneficial those articles will be for the website they link to.
An article can promote their own articles using social media.
That author can also promote their articles by writing new articles that link to the ones already published.
The more times they are linked and the more diverse those sources of links are the better.
One article published all alone is not going to be all that beneficial to a website.
If however, that article is one of many such articles published at the same site or if it is connected to other similar articles through links, then that article is going to be far more powerful.
If you combine all of these tactics into a cohesive plan to help promote your website, then it can be very effective indeed.
