Tools on Hoover Wind Tunnel Vacuums
- Each Hoover Wind Tunnel model is a complete home vacuuming system, designed to remove dust and dirt from most household surfaces. It comes with a powered hand tool, dusting brush, upholstery tool and a crevice nozzle. Two extension wands are also included to provide extra reach when the tools are used. The Wind Tunnel's tools are stored on board the cleaner. This means they are always available as you vacuum your home.
- The powered hand tool features an air-powered brush roll. It is used in conjunction with the extension wands to vacuum carpet in gaps between furniture that are too narrow for the main floor cleaning head. It can also be used to vacuum the carpet on stair treads and remove pet hair from upholstered surfaces.
- As its name implies, this tool is used to clean upholstery, as well as mattresses and soft furnishings, with suction only. The size of the upholstery tool makes it convenient for vacuuming the carpet on stair risers, moving the tool horizontally or vertically over the surface.
- The dusting brush can remove dust and grime from furniture, picture frames and ornaments. When attached to an extension wand, it is an effective way of dusting the area between ceilings and walls, as well as curtain rods. It can also be used with an extension wand to dust curtains and clean baseboards, especially those with carved grooves where dust tends to gather. Attached to just the suction hose, the dusting brush can clean shelving, books, lampshades and the tops of occasional furniture.
- The crevice nozzle can access very narrow gaps, such as those at the sides of appliances in your kitchen. The Wind Tunnel series of vacuums features "edge cleaning" on level carpets and hard flooring; but if there are narrow spaces between your carpets and baseboards, the crevice nozzle is ideal for lifting dust and dirt out of them. If you have flat baseboards with no dust-catching carvings in the side, the crevice nozzle is ideal for removing debris from the narrow top edge.
