How to Interpret High Blood Pressure Rates
- 1). Obtain a blood pressure reading.
- 2). The higher number is the systolic pressure. It represents the pressure exerted when your heart is beating. This number is always stated first. The lower number is the diastolic pressure. This represents the pressure exerted when your heart is at rest between heart beats.
