- Geothermal energy produces energy from steam and hot water. It produces little emissions, releasing only water vapor into the air with its use.
- It is not widely and easily available as a natural resource since available sites only cover one-fourth of the total energy needed worldwide. In the United States, its sources are only located on the west coast, along with Hawaii and Alaska.
- The production of geothermal energy is not affected by weather changes. It can continuously work day and night.
- There are some concerns that geothermic sites may affect the stability of the land surrounding it. Also, drilling for new sites is very expensive.
- Its sites require less land usage than other energy-producing facilities. There is also no waste disposal of any kind.
- It is possible that geothermic fields may deplete over time. This may discourage its production as a reliable energy resource.
