The Best Caribbean Vacations in February

    Carnival in Trinidad

    • On the island of Trinidad, they celebrate the Carnival festival (also known as Mardi Gras in New Orleans) like no other place on Earth. For five days there is a cultural extravaganza, filled with music, costumes and all night parties celebrating the island's Caribbean and African heritage. Even in the weeks leading up to the five-day show, bands are rehearsing in the tropical night air. The islands also have spectacular beaches, deluxe accommodations and perfect weather.

    Aruba

    • Aruba is known for it's beaches and hotels but few people know it as one of the best wind sport locations in the world. On the rustic east side of the island winds average around 18 to 25 knots, making windsurfing, sailing and parasailing an incredible experience for experts and beginners alike. Beach bars serve cold beers and good island seafood. The island is quite small so it won't be hard to explore over the course of a week.

    Tulum, Mexico

    • Located on Mexico's Caribbean side, Tulum, Mexico has a higher percentage of clear days then the majority of the Caribbean, with luxurious beachs, near-shore reef snorkeling and Mayan ruins right along the coast. If you want to escape the beach and sun for any reason, you can head into the jungles of Coba, where there are more ruins and cenotes, which are clear blue pools of water often hundreds of feet deep in which you can swim. Tulum will be quiet in February, as most tourists won't think of it as a winter vacation getaway in February.
