If your little girl is having a royal birthday party with a princess theme, consider making a princess tiara birthday cake to celebrate her special day. This kind of cake is perfect for the girl who loves to dress up and play princess. A lovely princess-themed cake will ensure that all her dreams come true as she blows out the candles to make a wish. - Combine a sheet cake and five cupcakes to make a lovely tiara cake. Trim a sheet cake so that it resembles the crescent of a tiara. Cut the top of the cake to five points---one in the center and two points on each side. Place the five cupcakes at the top of the points to make the rounded points of the crown. Frost the cake pink and pipe on details in purple and dark pink. Use candies as jewels on the crown.
- Give the birthday girl an elegant layer princess tiara cake by preparing a three-tier cake. Cover the cake layers with fondant (a moldable sugary sheet) for a smooth look. Pipe a swirled frosting border at the bottom of each layer. Press edible silver balls, known as dragees, into the cake at well-spaced intervals. Place a silver-colored plastic crown on the top layer for a royal birthday cake fit for a princess. After the guests have eaten the cake, wash the frosting off the tiara and give it to the birthday girl.
- Make a larger than life tiara for a princess birthday party with enough cupcakes to feed all the hungry guests. Bake 12 cupcakes using your favorite recipe in silver foil cupcake papers. Frost each cake with pink buttercream frosting. Then, frost the outsides of 12 sugar cones, the type you'd put ice cream in. Place the frosted cones upside down on the cupcakes---one on each. Decorate the frosted sugar cones with small candies to resemble jewels. Use diamond-shaped cinnamon candies, silver dragees, pink and white candy-coated chocolates and any other unusually shaped candies. Pipe any designs you want onto the cones. Arrange the cupcakes in a circlet, with the cones in place. The entire display resembles a jewel-encrusted tiara.
