How to Change an Inside Doorhandle in a 95 Chevy Tahoe
- 1). Remove the retaining screw securing the armrest into place with a Phillips screwdriver. Pry the armrest out by using a flat-head screwdriver to disengage the retaining tabs around the edge of the armrest bezel.
- 2). Remove the eight screws around the edge of the trim door panel with a Phillips screwdriver. Pry the trim door panel off with a flat-head screwdriver. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the panel and remove it from the door.
- 3). Use a flat head screwdriver to push down on the top of the door locking rod and to pivot it away from the door handle.
- 4). Disconnect the door handle from the lock rod and lock by removing its retaining screw with a Philips screwdriver. Remove it from the door with a flat head screwdriver.
- 5). Install a new door handle by placing it onto the door and securing it by installing the retaining screw. Reattach the door locking rod.
- 6). Reconnect all the electrical connectors to the trim door panel and reattach the trim door panel. Reinstall the armrest bezel and the armrest retaining screw.
