How to Adjust for Range With a Red Dot Scope Rifle

    • 1). Set up a target at approximately 200 yards. Red dot scopes are usually accurate up to 100 yards.

    • 2). Aim your rifle at your target and position the red dot above your target, approximately 1/8 inch as seen through the scope.

    • 3). Fire your rifle and observe where your bullet hits the target. Use a spotting scope so that you won't have to keep running up and down the range. Notice where you hit the target and adjust the red dot placement accordingly. For instance, if you are hitting below your target, bring the dot up.
