GE Profile Washer Troubleshooting

    Power

    • If your GE washer will not operate, ensure that it is correctly plugged into a working outlet. Make sure that the water supply is turned on and that the controls are set properly. If the lid is open, the washer will not spin or agitate. Check the circuit breaker and the fuse. You may need to reset the electronics. You can do this by unplugging the unit and waiting two minutes. Once you plug it back in, press the "Start" button.

    Suds and Leaks

    • Too many suds in your GE Profile washer may be caused by using the wrong detergent. Make sure you use a low sudsing brand. Soft water can also cause excessive suds. Use less detergent if this is the type of water you have. Always make sure you are not using too much detergent by reading the instructions on the box. If your washer leaks, check all hose connections at the faucets and the washer. Clean any debris out of the household drain. Replace the fill hoses every 5 years to prevent wear on them.

    Temperature

    • Check that your controls are set properly if the water temperature is not correct. Make sure that the hot and cold faucets are turned on all the way and that the hoses are connected to the correct faucets. Clean any debris out of the water valve screens. Ensure that your house water heater is providing water which is between 120 and 140 degrees Fahrenheit. Remember that the washer lid must be closed for the PerfectTemp Plus technology to activate.
