Many amusement and theme park companies offer discounts to active members of the military, and in some cases, reservists. These discounts can often be redeemed by showing your military identification at the ticketing window of the amusement park, or can be purchased at the Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) office on your base. In many cases, amusement parks will allow military personnel to purchase discounted tickets online by entering identification information. - The United States Armed Forces have a recreation base called Shades of Green near Walt Disney World which includes a hotel, resort, spa, golf course and fine dining. The resort is only open to military personnel and their families. Guests of the resort can purchase discounted Disney World tickets from the resort. The resort also offers discounted tickets to Universal Orlando, Wet 'n Wild water park, the Blue Man Group, Sea World and Busch Gardens.
- SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment, which owns Adventure Island, SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, Water Country USA and Sesame Place, offers free admission to military personnel through their Hero Salute program. Active duty and reservist personnel and up to three family members are eligible for this program. In order to receive free admission, you must register either on the company's website or at the ticket office of the amusement park. Holiday events on Halloween and Christmas in the parks are not eligible for free admission.
- The Army and the Navy both have MWR offices; the Air Force has the Services Agency and the Marines has the Community Services office. All branches of the military have MWR or Services offices on-base. The Army's site has a list of amusement parks and attractions that have entered into discounted ticketing agreements with the military, organized by state and city. These tickets can only be purchased on-base and not through online programs. For all branches of the military, check with your base's MWR office for the best ticket prices available.
