Some Information On Fungal Infections

Fungal infections are one of the embarrassing infections that no one likes to talk about.
These infections are caused by a strain of fungi that dwell in the blood stream.
These fungi are kept in check by the body's immune system most of the time.
When the immune system is weak and the conditions are right the fungus can start growing and infect regions of the human body.
The region's most susceptible to this are the throat, the groin and the nails.
The fungus needs warm dark regions to grow.
It finds these conditions in these regions.
It also needs sugar to grow.
This is why people with high daily sugar intakes are more susceptible to these infections.
The infection of the throat is called oral thrust and its symptoms are a thick white coating on the back of the tongue and bad breathe.
The symptoms of the groin infection are white covering growing on the skin.
The nail fungus infections are the easiest to spot.
The nails on the feet are more likely to be affected in this case.
This is because the feet are covered in socks and shoes for most of the day.
This creates the perfect conditions for the fungus to breed.
The fungus starts breeding in the nail bed.
It feeds on the keratin of the nail.
This causes the nail to lose color and become deformed.
It separates from the nail bed and may completely fall off if not treated.
There are several ways to treat toe nail fungus.
The first one is natural way.
This method entails using natural oils and essences.
For example, the toe nail is soaked in a mixture of warn water and tea tree oil.
It can also be soaked in diluted mouthwash.
The alcohol in the mouthwash kills the fungus.
Another treatment is to soak the nail in a mixture of vinegar and tea tree oil.
There are medicines available to treat fungal infections.
Topical creams are the most commonly used method to treat nail fungus.
Sometimes when the infection is strong or spread then oral medication is also prescribed to combat the infection.
This is done to kill off the spores in the blood, prevent the infection from taking hold again and allowing the nail to grow back.
Laser nail treatments are now available to treat this infection.
The affected nail is treated with high intensity laser light.
The light from the laser kills the fungus.
If the infection is treated in time then one laser treatment is more than enough.
Multiple sessions may be required depending on how much the disease has spread.
