How to Repair Aluminum Wheels

    • 1). Put on rubber gloves. Combine 5 cups of any all-purpose automobile cleaner and 4 cups of warm water in a bucket. Soak the sponge in the solution.

    • 2). Saturate the aluminum wheel. Remove any loose dirt or debris using the wet sponge.

    • 3). Scrub the wheel with the soft-bristled toothbrush. Use small, circular motions. Pay extra attention to any especially dirty or damaged areas.

    • 4). Rinse the wheel using clean water. Rinse completely and immediately after washing to prevent soap build-up.

    • 5). Dry the wheel using a lint-free cleaning cloth. Dry thoroughly and as soon as the area has been rinsed to avoid water spots or buildup.

    • 6). Polish the dried wheel. Apply a small amount of clear coat onto a second lint-free cloth and rub it into the wheel using smooth, circular motions. Add more clear coat as needed to achieve the desired look.
