Thoughts of a Human Baby, Low IQ Human or Chimpanzee; In Debate of Philosopher Auguste Comte
Auguste Comte brought us a philosophical theory that ALL human thought is divided into 3-categories; Religious, Scientific and Philosophical.
Many more modern philosophers believe this is too simple.
Let me introduce a challenge to the dead Auguste Comte who lived in the mid-1800s, who unfortunately he is not with us to accept this debate; what about the thoughts of a human baby, low IQ human or even a chimpanzee primate, whose brain works nearly the same.
What if you do not "Know" anything, a child for instance has thoughts, but knows little, actually nothing really as a baby.
They know of no faith and do not know a god, not even a Santa Clause yet.
They cannot do scientific thought or reason and know of no evidence to support such concepts of thought, but they are thinking, they are human and thus outside his definitions.
If we are to forget this objection to the argument then where does human thought start? At 55, 65, 75, or 80 IQ? And since a chimpanzee has that level of IQ, what does the Auguste Comte, a religious man, say about that? A monkey knows no god, but has faith that the fruit will be there; otherwise he would seek a different location to gather fruit.
A monkey has faith the sun will rise in the morning.
With this truth be known then if Comte was right then it should be both "Human Thought and Primate Thought" in his categories.
I certainly hope this article is of interest and that is has propelled thought.
The goal is simple; to help you in your quest to be the best in 2007.
