Transportation of Johannesburg

Johannesburg is the capital city of South Africa. It has several names like Jozi, Joburg or Egli. It is city which is recently developed. It does not have a proper public transport system. Majority people in this city rely on minibus taxis. There are several private motorists.

Lanseria Airport, Rand Airport, Grand Central Airport and Johannesburg International Airport are located in this city; Or Tambo International Airport is situated in Johannesburg which is known as Johannesburg International Airport. It was known as Jan Smuts Airport in the past.

There is a small airfield located in Germiston Rand Airport, Grand Central Airport and Rand Airport used for run privately. Lebombo is now took aplace of museum which was the hub of African Airways first breing 747 classic. Grand centraldeals a small airline, It is in Midrand people and to transport goods throughout the city. Johannesburg kind road is the very well known king roads of Africa. It is consisted of three ways. They are spread in the city. N3 eastern bypass connects Johannesburg to Durban. Johannesburg is linked with Pretoria and Cape Town through the N1 western bypass. Johannesburg is connected with Witbank and Kimberley through bypass named as N12 southern bypass. Asphalt is used to built N3 where as concrete is used to built N12 and N1. Western bypass is given a nickname of "The concrete Highways". It proved very good for transportation. In the southern Hemisphere The Gilloly's Interchange. It is the busiest Interchange. It is located on an old farm N1 is also known as the busiest road. There are many free ways of Johannesburg connected to it. N1, N3, N12, N14, N17, R21, R24 and R59 all goes to Johannesburg. In the city centre M1 and M2 Freeways are built. Mass urbanization. Taxis make these two free ways busy. There are two sort of Taxis run in the Johannesburg known as metered taxis and minibus taxis are not allowed to collect passengers while driving around the city. There is an increase in the minibus taxis after the Gauteng Provincial Government has introduced a new metered tax programme. Majority of population travel through the Mini bus taxis. These are important form of transportation while traveling by road
