What Is Urea Lotion 40?
- Urea Lotion 40 is a debriding agent. It breaks down and loosens dead skin and pus, allowing it to shed more easily.
- Urea Lotion 40 is used to treat a variety of hyperkeratotic skin conditions, including eczema, corns and calluses.
- Urea Lotion 40 should be applied to affected areas twice daily, unless otherwise instructed by a doctor. Cover the affected area with a small amount. Wash your hands before and applying (unless your hands are the area to be treated), and wash off any lotion that you got on skin not in the affected area.
- Common, temporary side effects of Urea Lotion 40 are mild skin irritation, stinging, itching and burning. More severe side effects should be reported to a doctor and include hives, difficulty breathing and swelling of the face.
- Pregnant and nursing women should consult a professional before using Urea Lotion 40, as its effects on the developing fetus and breast milk are unknown.
Do not apply Urea Lotion 40 to broken or severely irritated skin, and do not bring in contact with your eyes, nose or mouth.
