How to Search Old PS2 Games

    Craigslist

    • 1). Go to Craigslist. Although the odds of finding a particular game in your area are slim, searching will only take a moment and if you do manage to find it, you can pick it up in your own city. The other options entail waiting for it to ship to you, which can take several days.

    • 2). Select your city and click on "video gaming," which is under the "for sale" category. A search page will load.

    • 3). Enter the name of your desired PlayStation 2 game into the search field. Press "Enter."

    • 4). Browse through the results. If you find the game, contact the seller to make sure it's still available and in good condition. Often, sellers don't take down their ads after posting, so there's a chance that the game will already be gone.

    EBay

    • 1). Log into eBay. If you don't already have an account, you can still search without one. However, you will not be able to bid on or purchase a game without first registering. You can do so by clicking on the "Register" link on the cover page and then filling out some basic personal information.

    • 2). Select "Video Games" from the drop-down menu and then type the name of your desired title.into the search box. Click "Search."

    • 3). Browse through the results. Of all your options, you're most likely to find the title on eBay. Many sellers will offer a "Buy It Now" option, which will sell you the game immediately--though usually at a higher price than if you bid. If you want to get it for less, choose an auction that you can bid on. Different people have different approaches to bidding. Some simply put in their maximum bid and then wait to see if they win, while others lurk until the last 30 seconds and then enter their bid. The latter method reduces the odds of a bid war, meaning it will be cheaper for you.

    Video Game Trading

    • 1). Log into a video game trading site, such as Goozex and eStarland. These sites have thousands of titles to choose from, and rather than pay for them, you trade other video games for them.

    • 2). Search for the PS2 game you want, and if you find that it's available, enter the queue for trading. Sometimes you'll get lucky and there won't be a queue, meaning you'll be able to trade for it right away. Other times the queue can be dozens of people long and the wait can last for months.

    • 3). Offer a game in exchange for your desired title. For highly desirable titles, you might have to offer multiple games for the trade.
