Some Reasons Why You May Exhibit Poor Time Management Skills

There Are Several Reasons Why Some people may have poor home time management skills and, from my experience, these are the most common.
See if you see yourself in one of these categories but know, even if you do, there's still hope.
Reason #1 - You never learned home time management skills It's really hard to learn home time management skills when you're so busy putting out fire after fire.
By the time you've taken off your Fire Chief's helmet, you're too exhausted to think about where that next hotspot will flare up.
So, inevitably, you start out the next morning with...
I can already guess...
a new fire to put out.
It's a vicious cycle but one which, fortunately, can be broken.
How? Start paying attention to the future more.
Begin on Monday night to think about Tuesday.
What do you have to do? What are you going to fix for dinner? Do the kids have any kind of practice? Think, plan, and think some more.
The more you practice this the better you'll get.
I've found that, for me, weekly planning is the best because it allows me to plan in advance yet it's not so in advance that it's unstable.
Reason #2 - You never had to manage your time wisely I know it's hard to believe but some people are so spoiled that they have no concept of home time management.
They may not have to get up and go to a job or school or they may just be really lazy.
I knew one woman who had been a housewife for many years...
let me rephrase that...
she didn't work outside of the home or inside it either.
When her husband left her she had absolutely no concept of time management.
Now that was work to get her straightened out! Severe laziness can be overcome.
How? Find out what will motivate you.
Create a list of goals.
When we have goals we're working toward then we're motivated to find the time to work on them.
Having to find time for something usually means learning and then utilizing home time management skills.
Reason #3 - Learning home time management skills was too much work You just never wanted to expend the energy to learn and then practice new skills.
It always seemed like too much time to make those monthly menus or create that family calendar.
Maybe now your life has changed and you're really needing those long put off skills.
You can get them at last.
How? Take the time to concentrate on one aspect at a time.
Since you spend a lot of time in the kitchen, learn how to create weekly menus first off then you can graduate to something else.
