- 1). Prepare the surface of your project. Use alcohol to remove grease from metal or glass, gently sand a wood surface, and pass a flame over resin or plastic surfaces.
- 2). Place the hot fix crystals on the surface of your project in the pattern you have designed. They should be facing up, with the glued sides facing down.
- 3). Attach the appropriate tip to your hot fix tool. You will need a tip that is big enough or small enough for the crystals you are working with. Crystal sizes range from ss5 (tiny) to ss48 (large).
- 4). Heat the hot fix tool for about 2 minutes.
- 5). Place the hot fix applicator over one of the crystals. Ensure that you are holding the applicator straight up.
- 6). Hold the applicator in place for about 2 seconds and then lift it up to check the crystal. When the glue begins to melt, take the applicator off quickly.
- 7). Continue to subsequent crystals, repeating steps 5 and 6.
