Achieving a Genuine Course - What Everyman Should Aspire To

Every genuine cause attracts opposition and the devil fights it to the core.
In the Bible, Nehemiah and his team achieved or succeeded in the project they undertook on schedule in spite of the opposition they had (Neh.
4:1-23; 6:1-15).
They succeeded because certain qualities were found in them.
If we desire to achieve the cause we are undertaking, then we must go for these qualities.
We must understand that the cause we are undertaking in life is a genuine cause that has the backing of God.
Nehemiah, while trying to do the work he was appointed to do, many oppositions arose on his way.
He did not consider these oppositions as a hindrance to his work, and so, he succeeded on it.
There are many qualities that are found in Nehemiah and his team that made them succeed despite oppositions.
1.
They Had Vision: - Vision here is not about the dream of the night but it is an idea or a picture in one's imagination and the ability to think and plan the future with great imagination and intelligence (Neh.
l:1-11; 2:1-20).
Leaders and people with vision are badly needed for us to advance and achieve the cause we are undertaking.
When we have a vision to pursue, we will surely work harder to achieve it.
2.
They Had Genuine Concern: - Nehemiah and his team had genuine concern about the situation of the people.
Nehemiah broke down in tears when he got the situation report from Hanani.
Genuine concern is required by all in this generation, so as to make reasonable contribution to our world.
3.
They Were Men of Prayer and Fasting: - Prayer, fasting and other spiritual exercises are not optional, but mandatory, for achieving our cause in the midst of the opposition of Satan.
Nobody ever had advanced a cause that God is interested in without living a life of prayer.
4.
They Were Determined: - Nehemiah and his team were resolved, resilient and determined to accomplish their God-given assignment successfully.
They were determined to succeed and were not ready to fail, so they paid great price, made sacrifice etc.
If we want to succeed, we must be ready to pay the price.
5.
They Were Committed: - Nehemiah's team was a committed team, who would not tolerate any distraction from that cause.
Commitment is that quality that we cannot compromise if we desire to achieve the cause we are pursing.
Our leaders must be in the forefront in this matter.
6.
They Were Selective: - Nehemiah did not tolerate men who would sabotage the work; he refused them from being involved in the work.
In our days, some people may choose to be sabotaging what we are doing from within by speaking discouraging words, not getting involved in our programs, etc, yet we will not be tricked to fail.
God has given us a great assignment, we cannot fail, for failure is not in our vocabulary, therefore we must all rise to contribute spiritually, physically, financially and morally to achieve this, our genuine cause in life.
