How to Repair the Hair Wig on a Barbie Doll
- 1). Cut straws into 3/4-inch pieces. These will be used as "rollers." You can use different size straws for different looks: for tight curls, use thin cocktail straws; for loose curls, use a regular straw; for waves, use thick straws.
- 2). Fill a small pot with water and heat on high to bring to a boil. When the water starts to boil, lower the heat to a simmer.
- 3). Fill a small bowl with cold water. Place ice cubes into the water to make it even colder.
- 4). Apply a dime-size drop of shampoo to your Barbie's hair. Do not massage the shampoo into the hair (this can create more matting). Instead, brush the shampoo into the hair with a Barbie brush.
- 5). Rinse the shampoo out with warm water. Spray the detangling spray into Barbie's hair and brush it through.
- 6). Pull Barbie's hair back into a ponytail, securing with a hair tie.
- 7). Roll small sections of Barbie's hair into the straw rollers. Secure the rollers into the hair using bobby pins. Do this until all of the hair is up in rollers.
- 8). Pour the hot, simmering water over the Barbie's hair. Do this carefully and over a sink. After pouring the hot water onto Barbie's hair, pour the ice water over the curlers. Set your Barbie down and allow 15 hours for the hair to completely dry.
- 9). Take out the rollers when the hair is completely dry.
