Middle Aged Women - The Fight Continues
In our history book, when we talk about the middle ages, it is defined as the period of European history between A.
D.
500 to 1500.
A middle aged woman life is the ages between 40 to about 60.
The word middle aged in our present day society means ancient history, old fashioned, antique, over the hill and out of touch with current technology.
I believe that society has branded the middle aged woman with a mark of shame and discredit and we need to take a stand to change the way we are portrayed.
The fight for equality must continue for us to overcome the adversities that we are being faced with daily, such as our jobs, a lot of companies are bringing in younger employees and striving on technology instead of wisdom and knowledge.
We are faced with not knowing if we are the first to be laid-off.
If you are facing these challenges here are some tips to follow: 1.
Keep Your Dignity - Hold your head up high and do not let negative emotions take over.
Focus your time and energy on problem solving (working out the conflicts).
Remember that you have obtained a lot of wisdom and knowledge over your 40 plus years and no one can take that away from you.
Use all your experiences and talents to overturn any situation.
Your fight for success starts now.
2.
Be a Team of One - We as middle age women need to network more and share ideals.
There is power in numbers working together for the same common cause.
Individuals working together can change the world.
We need to play an active role in our fight to continue equality.
Lets change the world together with our ideals, skills and talents.
3.
Have an Escape Route - Always have a Plan B in motion.
If you are in jeopardy of losing your job, do not wait until that day arrive, start planning now for your future by seeking other income sources.
There are many income possibilities available for us, we just have to seek them out and choose the best ones.
Fighting for our rights will probably never change, but with the proper mindset we, as middle aged women can build our own nest-eggs in other areas by changing the way we value ourselves.
If we are historic, we hold the key to knowledge and wisdom and eventually we are the ones that will hold the keys to the cities of success.
