One of the down sides of the roofing industry are the professional storm chasers.
Many roofing companies will wait for a hail storm before coming into an area to market.
This includes out of state companies and ones that just are there for the storm.
The problem with these, besides being money chasers, is that they will not be there for you in the long haul.
Once the majority of roofs in the effected area have been serviced, the companies will disappear.
This is just one of many risks that a potential home owner can face.
Here are some others that we have seen over the years.
1) Uninsured - Many of these companies do not have the proper licenses and insurance policies to cover them in case of injury, damaged property, or warranty on materials 2) Unreachable - Once the work is done, you might never hear from them again.
This could be bad if the work needs to be fixed or redone.
3) Usage of Bad Materials - When it comes to your roof, cheap materials and products should not be used as this could lead to long term damage.
Make sure your roofer is using materials that have a long life span.
4) Hiring of Day Laborers - There is nothing wrong with hiring help but do you really want someone working on your house that has never done it before? 5) A Messy Job Site - There is nothing worse for a homeowner than having to clean up after a contractor has left the job site.
