Easy to Put Together Costume Ideas for Teenage Girls
- Take that favorite little black dress out of the closet and pair it with a tail and ear set. These can often be found at dollar stores around Halloween time and can also be easily made out of construction paper, ribbon and a hair band. Make a collar with a piece of construction paper or fabric scrap and paint on whiskers and a little black nose with your mascara wand.
- For those trying to win a costume contest on a budget, think outside of the box – or rather, place yourself inside of one. Take a large square cardboard box and cut head and arm holes. Paint nine squares on each side, choosing one color of a Rubik's Cube for each side. Wear black underneath, stick the box over your head and you have a fun costume that gives the impression it took a lot of time to create.
- Add a little humor to your costume by dressing completely in purple – long sleeved purple top and purple leggings work well. Blow up two dozen purple balloons and tie them onto a few strings. Tie these around your torso down to the base of your waistline, and pin where needed to hold the strings in place. Wear a green hat, a green hairband, or just stick some faux leaves in an up-do. Green, black or purple shoes finish off this funny costume idea.
- Go back to an outfit you probably wore as a little girl. Throw on a pair of pajamas (footsie pajamas are available in adult sizes) and pick up a baby pacifier at your local drug or grocery store. Put your hair in pigtails or hide it under a hat and add any other accessories you want from a rattle to baby food all over your face. Have fun with it and put a teenage spin on this classic idea.
