Grace and Ease in the Stream of Consciousness

The term "stream of consciousness" is commonly used with regard to unstructured, unedited writing.
The phrase was coined by philosopher and psychologist William James to indicate the flow of inner experience in Principles of Psychology (1890).
With the stream of consciousness writing technique the thoughts and feelings of a character are presented as the writing occurs.
Have you heard authors of fictional stories say that they themselves did not know where the story was headed or were surprised themselves at the ending? This may sound absurd to the intellectual mind but the stream of consciousness is a co-author, a co-creator of sorts.
The author becomes a translator of some invisible dictation and is as much of a witness to the story unfolding as is any person reading the story for the first time.
Typing on a computer for many can break the flow or stream of consciousness unless the typing can be continuous on the keyboard without backspacing and correcting spelling and grammar.
Writers are often encouraged to write an initial draft as a stream of consciousness and later do the heavy lifting of editing and wordsmithing.
Inspired ideas can come forth when you first awaken in the morning and don't feel completely alert.
This state of being conscious yet not fully awake is fertile ground for creativity.
Being distracted with having to get up and follow a routine can be hazardous to fully allowing and expressing these ideas and solutions into coherent thought forms.
When you wake up in the middle of the night or early morning with an idea or concept gnawing at you and you are unable to go back to sleep, this is the realm of consciousness or spirit tapping you on the shoulder to create.
It has pure access to you in this state where there is no resistance with other emotions and beliefs getting in the way.
The only resistance it may encounter is you not wanting to get out of bed to write down its expression and follow through on it.
Unexpected solutions and inspired ideas can flow forth effortlessly when we least try to find them, for example, when you take a shower in the morning, go for a walk or do simple chores.
You are fully functioning in the world but not actively thinking.
This allows consciousness to arise and come through you.
Meditation is also a state where creativity is able to percolate and resonate into your being.
It can be difficult or almost impossible to offer an intelligible translation in physical form if you are too deep in meditation.
The vibrational frequency of deep meditation can cause an overload to the circuitry of human intellect.
The capacity to accurately translate a profound message in this state is difficult if not impossible.
The writing for example may appear distorted, confused or at the very least a strange comprehension of what you experienced.
Consider a lighter state of meditation, a contemplative state that is awakened yet not in a trance where pure essence is accessed.
The ability to access the stream of consciousness from Spirit into the physical realm is the greatest and most magnificent form of co-creation.
