Undocumented immigrants deportation postpone by US
Now undocumented immigrants have something to cheer about because the US government passes the application to defer the deportation of undocumented immigrants. The undocumented immigrants have a chance to stay in US for two years. For this they need to fill online application form and they must also satisfy all the condition mentioned by US government.
About 800,000 young illegal immigrants would be benefiting out of the new move. They can stay back for 2 more years after their case is approved by the officials.
This new application will go into effect from 15 August onwards. Applicants can fill application online and applicants will be charged US $465 for each request.
Exemptions will be given to very few cases like homeless individuals or disables that are not in a position to pay the application fee.
In spite of fixing up the fee, there are some sections that have the fear of immigrants to be charged exorbitantly high fee by the lawyers and attorney.
The US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) said that this process will enable undocumented immigrants having come to the US as infants to make applications for a deferred action. This will offer a temporary relief from being shunted out of the US.
To encourage the maximum number of young people to come forward, Homeland Security officials gave assurances that information from the applications would not be used for immigration enforcement, which is handled by a separate agency.
USCIS director Alejandro Mayorkas said that the applications which will also include requests for work permits, will be considered individually, with each immigrant undergoing a criminal and national security background check.
The US immigration officials said that driving in the US without a license will not be considered as a disqualifying offense for the purpose of applying for deferred action. It is a common violation committed by a large number of undocumented immigrants primarily due to their ineligibility for licenses in majority of US states.
