Kinds of Toyota Cars

    Sedans

    • Toyota manufactures sedans in a number of styles and levels of quality and comfort. Its top of the line sedan, the Avalon, features extras such as power locks and windows, digital dashboard displays, and integral CD player. The Corolla is not as opulent as the Avalon but is a very solid car that is known for reliability. The Echo is Toyota's economy car. Similar to the Corolla but smaller and lighter, it is a bit louder on the highway, but gets good gas mileage, averaging 26 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway.

    Pickup Trucks

    • Toyota makes pickup trucks in small and large sizes. The Tundra, Tacoma, and Hilux are some of the models manufactured by Toyota. Some models feature 4-wheel drive, which is useful for rugged and off-road terrain but cuts down on gas mileage. Toyota pickup trucks, like Toyota cars, are know for having dependable engines and getting good gas mileage for trucks, averaging around 20 mpg.

    Hybrids

    • The Prius, a Toyota hybrid model, features both a gasoline engine and an electric battery bank. When the car is being driven at high speeds, it runs on the gasoline engine. When speeds are slow enough, it runs solely on the electric batteries. Among other benefits, this feature eliminates engine idling at stop lights and when stuck in traffic.

    SUVs

    • Although Toyota spends millions marketing itself as a "green" car company due to its line of hybrids, it is not shy about selling large and relatively inefficient SUVs as well. The Toyota Highlander, with a base price of $27,000, gets 20 mpg in the city and about 25 on the highway. It is designed both to drive over rugged terrain and to impress people in urban environments.
