Treating High Blood Pressure, Or Hypertension, Naturally - Part One

In treating high blood pressure, or hypertension as it is often called, it's important to realise just what it is.
Before we go there, let's look at an analogy.
A common garden hose delivers water to the sprinkler because of the water pressure.
If there is a kink in the hose, the pressure rises in the hose before the kink (sometimes enough to blow it off the fitting), but the delivery of water to the sprinkler is less.
If you have high blood pressure, it's because something is preventing the natural flow of blood around your body.
However, the high pressure is still needed to get to all your cells, even though the delivery pressure is low and slow.
Your body has naturally and effectively raised your blood pressure to ensure all cells are still fed.
By reducing your blood pressure, you further reduce the already slow and low delivery.
This is turn can lead to problems in your extremities, where the delivery of blood has the furthest to go.
The normal treatment of high blood pressure, by simply lowering the pressure, is treating the effect, rather than the cause.
It is suppressing your body's natural wisdom, which knocks your immune system.
This is turn makes you less able to prevent or recover from disease.
Some people have what is loosely termed as 'sludgy' blood.
The blood is thick and doesn't flow easily.
This can be caused by an insufficient amount of water in your system.
You are permanently dehydrated.
Simply by drinking more water, you may totally cure your high blood pressure.
Although I'm not a great believer in forcing down liters of water, I am a great believer in drinking when you are thirsty.
This means keeping water with you all the time.
It's amazing how much you can drink in a day from a sip here and there.
Often people mistake thirst for hunger.
Try drinking more and eating less.
A note of caution: please use a glass or stainless steel container to carry your water, as plastic water bottles contain harmful BPA.
Another cause of high blood pressure is the high consumption of animal protein (dairy, eggs, fish, chicken and red meat).
Humans are omnivores not carnivores.
Which means the focus of our food should be on plant material, with occasional additions of animal protein I consider the maximum amount of animal protein in an ideal diet should be no more than twice a week.
Many people consume it twice, even three, times a day.
