How to Make a Sweet Pea Baby Shower Centerpiece

    • 1). Draw a pea pod shape on a piece of light green flannel fabric. Make the pea pod about 6 inches wide by 10 inches long. Cut out the pea pod and use it as a template to make a second pea pod cutout.

    • 2). Lay the pea pods together with the good sides inward. Place the stem on top of one end of the pea pod, with most of the stem overhanging the pea pod. Sew a running stitch or zigzag stitch around the bottom curve of the pods and up over the ends. Leave the top, flatter edge of the pea pod open.

    • 3). Fold over 1/2 inch of fabric along the top, flatter edge and sew to make smooth edges for the top of the pea pod. Turn the pea pod right side out.

    • 4). Roll 10 baby washcloths into jellyrolls. Fold each jellyroll in half and wrap a ribbon around the end opposite the fold to keep the shape.

    • 5). Flip the open end of a baby sock over the rest of the sock. Repeat with about 19 more socks.

    • 6). Fill the pea pod with the baby items. If the pea pod is not slightly overfull, make more “peas” from washcloths and baby socks.
