New Years Day Travel

Okay, you may be asking why are you telling me this now but as you sit there and look out the window at the pouring rain, suffer the freezing cold wind and endure the pitch dark sky you might start to question why am I sat in the UK shouldn't I have taken that flight and escaped to the sunshine.
If you don't want to make that oversight again and do want the easiest Airport experience you will ever have then get yourself booked in for a New Years Day flight.
Here come the upsides of making this decision:
Pull straight up at drop off right outside the airport door. No jostling for position or cutting people up before they steal the spot you have just waited 15 minutes for.
Enter the airport and easily identify which check in gates are yours as there are only 5 flights going out around the same time as yours. This is instead of checking across 5 screens whilst trying not fall over peoples children who are doing their best to ensure you make an early claim on your holiday insurance
Amble up to the check in gate rather than Racing the family with 6 children who are just about to enter the cordoned area before you.
Wait minutes not hours to get to the check in desk
Be dealt with by a slightly hung over but pleasant member of staff who hasn't lost the will to live having dealt with thousands of disorganised travellers.
Up next Customs! Your trousers still fall down as you take off your belt and you suffer the baby milk tasting experience but at least it is over in a flash and you actually get chance to put your money back in your pocket before the tray is whipped away from you
You can then make your way to the food hall at your leisure and instead of picking through the dried remains enjoy a bountiful feast of choice. You don't even have to elbow granny out of the way for the last egg custard. Unfortunately, the prices are still the same but at least you have what you want and not what you are left with.
Next up is duty free. Enjoy all the free shots of spirits you want as there is no one else for the bored attendant to give it too. The good looking member of staff working the After Shave and Perfumery section is all yours as they are so grateful just to have a customer.
Fed, watered and smelling good if not a little tipsy you can make your way to the boarding gate where you plane is amazingly running on time. You don't even have to walk two miles to get to your gate as the few planes that are flying have been brought up to the centre of the terminal.
Boarding goes ahead on time and instead of the cattle rush, despite the allotted seat calls, you enjoy an orderly and swift moving queue with some equally jovial passengers who have also enjoyed some free shots and a stress free airport experience.
All you then have to do is find your seat, sit back and think of all the family and friends you have left in the rain as you smugly look forward to blue skies, warm sunshine & an ice cold drink.
