How to Make No-Cost Christmas Ornaments At Home
- 1). Go to the nearest park with your kids and collect pine cones. This in and of itself can be a fun adventure for young kids!
- 2). Raid your basement or storage space for those old dried or plastic flower arrangements. Collect the smallest "blooms" like baby's breath and similar sized flowers. If you don't have any, you can probably get them very inexpensively at any craft or "dollar" store.
- 3). Glue varying blooms/flowers into the openings on the pine cones and tie a piece of yarn to the stem in a loop for hanging on the tree. As an option, if you have leftover spray paint in the house, give the cones a light spray (just enough to introduce the color and not completely painted) before gluing the flowers in.
- 4). Another great money-saver is for the gift wrapping and tags. Use leftover wallpaper scraps for wrapping and tags. Last year's Christmas cards (or those that you are getting this year) are the makings for great gift tags...cut images from the covers, punch a hole in one corner and attach a piece of yarn.
