How do I Create Crystal Wands?

    • 1). Sand any rough edges or bark off the stick. Be sure to work along the grain for the best results. Begin with the medium grade sandpaper, using the fine later for a smooth finish.

    • 2). Carve out a space for the crystal at the tip of your wand. You can use any type of crystal desired, but one with a point creates a traditional look to the finished piece. Carve very slowly keeping your motion away from you for safety. Stop regularly and check to see when the crystal fits securely.

    • 3). Glue the crystal in place using wood glue mixed with a pinch of frankincense. Frankincense cleanses and provides grit that helps the crystal stay in place. If the fit seems loose, you can use thin jewelry wire crisscrossed around the crystal and down onto the base of the wand.

    • 4). Cut the piece of leather or cloth so that it wraps completely around the base of the wand as a handhold. Secure the fabric in place using leather lashing crossing front to back, and back to front three to four times. Tie it off leaving long ends.

    • 5). Add beads and feathers to the leather lashing ends if desired. Bless the wand with a prayer, and then keep it in a safe place for future use in your rituals and spells.
