    Choosing the Gait

    • 1). Press "Forward," which is the up arrow button on the controller, to cue the raptor to use its hunting gait, a slow and predatory walk.

    • 2). Press "Forward" while in the hunting mode to cue the raptor to use a normal walking speed. Press "Forward" twice at the beginning to skip the hunting gait and go straight to the normal walking gait.

    • 3). Press "Forward" while in the walking gait to cue the raptor to begin running at its top speed. Press "Forward" three times at the beginning to skip directly to the running gait.

    • 4). Press "Backward," which is the down arrow button, to make the raptor move backwards.

    • 5). Press "Turn Left" or "Turn Right," the directional arrow buttons, to cue the raptor to turn in the corresponding direction while standing in place. Press the directional arrows again to cue the raptor to walk in the indicated direction. Press "Turn Left" or "Turn Right" twice at the beginning to skip directly to directional walking.

    Operating the Head and Tail

    • 1). Press "Head Clockwise,"which is the button with the raptor's head looking to the right, to cue the raptor to turn its head in a clockwise direction. Press the button three more times to cue the raptor to fully rotate its head clockwise.

    • 2). Press "Head Counterclockwise," which is the button with a raptor looking to the left, to cue the raptor to turn its head in a counterclockwise direction. Press the button three more times to cue the raptor to fully rotate its head in a counterclockwise direction.

    • 3). Press "Tail Left" or "Tail Right" to cue the raptor to turn its head and tail in the corresponding direction.

    • 4). Press "Bite," which is the middle button on the right side of the controller, to cue the raptor to bite down.

    Additional Modes

    • 1). Press the "Shift" and "Demo" button at the same time to put the raptor into "Free-Roam" mode. The raptor will roam around and explore its environment. Leaving the raptor alone for more than three minutes will also put the raptor into this mode.

    • 2). Press "Shift" and "Bite" at the same time to put the raptor into "Guard" mode. The raptor will rotate its head and use its vision and stereo sensors to guard its area. The raptor will roar and become animated when it hears a loud noise or see any movement.

    • 3). Press "Shift" and "Head Clockwise" to put the raptor into the "Hunting" mode. Press "Shift" and "Tail Right" to put the raptor into the "Playful" mode, and press "Shift" and "Tail Left" to put the raptor into the "Cautious" mode.

    • 4). Make a loud noise while in either of the three modes and the raptor will turn its head directly to the source of the noise. Make another sound in the same area and the raptor will turn its body to the sound. Make a loud noise in front of the raptor and it will walk a few steps to it.
