- 1). Sweep or vacuum the wood floor to pick up loose debris and dirt.
- 2). Fill the steam cleaner with water according to the manufacturer's instructions. Turn the machine on and allow it to heat up.
- 3). Run the steamer slowly over the wood floor, starting in a back corner of the room and working your way toward the doorway. Move the steamer back and forth over the floor. Avoid going over the same area more than twice and keep the steamer moving at all times. Leaving it sit on one spot for any length of time can damage the wood.
