Rent a Villa in France: Fun for the Whole Family

First of all you need to choose the best location which can be difficult especially with small children as you will want to take them somewhere age appropriate. All that is left to do then is to start planning holiday activities that will keep you amused for all the times when you are not relaxing in your villa.

If you are taking away small children and toddlers then the best location is perhaps the North West of France especially Normandy and Brittany. Here you will find a great expanse of spacious countryside, all kinds of beaches and of course a plethora of activities to keep the little ones occupied.  The best thing about renting a villa and raking the kids to a beachside destination is that it is completely possible to keep costs to a minimum as so many each activities are free. If you have a bucket and spade and perhaps a few inflatables then there is no reason why you can't keep the kids occupied for free for most of the holiday. Of course you may still need to pay out for the odd ice cream or two but that is nothing if you compare to holidays spent traipsing around shops and cities.

Another huge perk of renting a villa is the great control that you have over your own schedule. This is especially true if you have young children with particular routines, or slightly older children that don't enjoy being cooped up for long and might get claustrophobic in a hotel room. In a villa the kids will have so much more space to run around and play meaning that the pressure to keep them expensively entertained is taken off of your shoulders somewhat.

In a self-catering villa you also have complete control over meal times as most rental villas come with excellent cooking facilities. Although most places in France do have wonderful opportunities for eating out we all know that if you are travelling with the little ones it is often easier to whip up something in the comfort of the villa that you know they will definitely eat. An added bonus is that eating in is extremely budget friendly and you can stock up on ingredients at local supermarkets and stores and you can create your very own dishes. Many rental villas also have lovely outside dining areas so you can sit out, enjoy your meal and look out at the view whether it is a city, the sea, or some beautiful French countryside.
