My Story of Women Dating Younger Men
On my 37 year old birthday, I found myself in love with a man at 24.
It means that he was 13 years younger than me.
At first I tried to control the temptation of forming this relationship because of the huge difference in our ages.
However, it became clear that our feelings for each other were very bonded and my happiness was heavily dependent upon getting past the perceived shameful nature of dating a younger man.
So in the process of working through some issues about the relationship, I also learn why he was attracted to me.
This is what I learned.
Firstly, older women are not so picky about appearance.
As we grow older and mature we tend to learn that appearances are not as important as we thought when we were teenagers.
Sometimes I would not even wear makeup when I go out on a date and it no longer takes me more than an hour to makeup before I step out the door.
My man once told me that he rather kisses a woman that doesn't have a "layer of shield on the face", and that he don't need to worry about getting the latest clothing either.
Secondly, older women are more financially and mentally independent.
I'm completely self-sufficient, able to pay my own phone bills.
When he's not around, I'm also able to make plans for myself and I don't need to beg him to buy me expensive luxury items.
Thirdly, older women aren't "dramatic" except for a few female friends that I know.
I am not interested in the private lives of his colleagues, or trying to badmouth others, nor do I become passive aggressive with him to get my way.
I won't use my period as a excuse to do whatever I like and have my way through.
Older women have more life experience.
For most part of my life, I have mastered the more significant aspects of my life, but I've learned the ins and outs of the smaller things too.
For example, I can cook him a Chinese dinner, select the perfect choice of wine and of course share my intimate experience with him.
Lastly, it's never a bad idea for women dating younger men.
I have a successful and happy life living with a man who is much younger than me and I believe you can do it too!
