- 1). Prune back the grape vine to be transplanted to two or three strong vines.
- 2). Position the shovel one foot away from the base of the grape vine. Dig a hole at least one foot deep in a circular pattern around the grapevine.
- 3). Angle the shovel to dig the bottom of the root ball out.
- 4). Lift the root ball of the grape vine out of the soil.
- 5). Prepare the soil of the grape vines new location by digging a hole and preparing the soil with fertilizer.
- 6). Place the grape vine into its new location. Cover with the prepared soil. Water thoroughly.
