How to Restore SIM Card Data
- 1). Save and close all open programs and then run update manager for Microsoft. This will install any missing security patches or other important updates.
- 2). Download and install the data recovery software of your choice. There are several websites that offer recovery software (see Resources). When the download is complete connect your SIM card to a port---this is the outer portion that holds the SIM card which is too small to fit into a port.
- 3). Click on the icon of the software you downloaded and launch the product, when a screen appears, choose the icon marked "Read SIM Card."
- 4). If you know the com port go ahead and list, if not choose the default setting. You will then be presented with options to choose from. Click on the icon "Recover" for recovery of your phone book and SMS information. Click on the "Restore" icon to restore the lost data. Follow the prompts. The utility software will begin gathering and restoring your lost data.
- 5). Remove the SIM card from the port and reinstall into your phone. Your lost data should now be available.
