Jump on the Blog Wagon
It's only been the last year or so that I have heard about blogs and blogging.
I am pretty sure they have been around longer than that, but I didn't know what they were.
Even after hearing about them I didn't have a really big urge to run right out and read one.
I mean, it's just a person who got themselves a spot on the internet and can now bore me with all the trivia of their life, yes? Some blogs are like that for sure.
There are blogs that are only meant for family and friends, and anyone else reading it would probably find it very boring.
Or worse yet, a company blog.
Yeah, who wants to keep track of what is going on in a J O B if they don't have to.
Yep, they have to pay people to read that stuff! But there is another realm of bloggers out there, ones that really have something to say and know how to say it well.
Some are extremely funny people, and who doesn't need a good laugh every day? It does not really matter what the subject matter is, as long as they are funny I will take the time to read it, just because I like to laugh.
Some are serious, and that is OK too, since the subject matter they are dealing with is serious.
Like politics, or medicine, or the environment.
And if they are knowledgeable about their subject matter and can write well I will probably read them also.
I mean, it's like getting educated for free.
One of the best things I like about blogs though, is the fact that I don't have to clog up my email with them.
They are there if I want to go read them, but if I decide I have had enough of that subject I don't need to spend months trying to get it to stop coming to my email box.
I just don't go there anymore.
Or I delete them from my RSS Reader.
Or I just skim the headlines when they hit my reader until I find something that piques my interest again, which will probably happen since by their very nature blogs are constantly changing.
So I have decided to jump on the blog wagon and give it a try.
I am going to read other peoples blogs because there is some interesting stuff in our world and I am a very curious person.
And I am going to write a blog and see how that works for me, because I have subject matter about which I am passionate and I like sharing that passion with others.
