    Browne Summer Camp

    • Run from June to August by the Browne Academy in Alexandria, Browne Summer Camp offers programs for ages 3 to 13. Browne Camp combines traditional summer activities like sports, swimming, and arts and crafts with cleverly themed sessions, such as "Roaming the Rainforest" and "The Land Before Time."

      Pre-school campers have the option to attend half-days, and extended day schedules are available to all campers. Browne also offers additional programs, including After Camp Excursions (ACE) and Summer Studies.

    Bach to Rock

    • Music comes alive at the Bach to Rock summer program, where young aspiring musicians are exposed to various aspects of the music industry. In morning, afternoon or full-day sessions, campers participate in programs about recording, fine-tuning a band, developing a keen musical ear, promoting a band and improving vocals. Each program has age restrictions, with the youngest campers at 3 1/2 years old. In 2010, Virginia has four Bach to Rock locations: Lansdowne, McLean, Herndon and South Riding.

      The Champions summer science program in Annandale, Virginia, transforms science into an educational adventure. Each summer includes four separate sessions with fun, kid-friendly themes like Egyptian pharaohs and rocketry. The Champions Science Adventure Camps are designed to stimulate learning through experimentation and scientific exploration. Campers will use scientific principles to solve mysteries and create cool projects that can be taken home at the end of the day.

    TIC Summer Camp

    • The Technology Instruction Corporation (TIC) Summer Camp engages children in technology and sports, encouraging youth development both physically and intellectually. Located in McLean, Virginia, TIC offers four sessions from June to August with the option for kids to attend for extended days.

      The technology programs promote hands-on learning in activities like computer programming, animation, web design and filmmaking, while sports activities include soccer, basketball, street hockey, gymnastics and dance. Campers are able to register for special activities, such as the drama program, and parents can request additional services like online lunch orders.

    Summer Camps on the River

      The picturesque backdrop of Christchurch, Virginia, makes Christchurch School an ideal location to host this set of sailing and adventure-themed camps. While these summer camps are designed to be week-long retreats, day sessions are available in the sailing and marine adventure programs.

      Children aged 8 to 15 are invited to take part in boat races and sailing excursions or explore Rappahannock River, getting a close look at the swamplands and local animal life. Overnight campers spend evenings making friends at campfire events, talent shows and other activities.
