How to Change Table Pads
- 1). Remove the table pad that needs to be changed. Take the tablecloth off of your dining room table to expose your table pad. You may have to pull the chairs away from the table to fully access the pad. If your pad is one piece, you may want assistance in lifting it off the table. If you are alone, gently slide the table pad off the side of the table and place it on the floor. If it is different pieces, fold the sections of the table pad in half and gently remove them from the table.
- 2). Note the tag on the table pad to see if it lists the dimensions. This way, you will be able to purchase a pad with the same dimensions. If it does not have a tag and you do not recall the dimensions, you may want to measure the table with a measuring tape and record its dimensions. Purchase a new table pad with the appropriate dimensions. The store where you purchased your table may have appropriate sized pads.
- 3). Be careful when putting the new pad on the table. If it is one piece and you have a large table, you may want a second person to assist you in lifting the pad onto the table from either end. If the pad is in pieces, carefully place each piece of the pad onto the table until the table is completely colored and the pieces fit smoothly together. Walk around the table to make sure that the pad is flush with all edges of the table.
- 4). Put the tablecloth back on the table, move the chairs back in place if you previously removed them, and enjoy your newly protected table.
