How to Make a Dance Floor for Parties

    • 1). Measure the dimensions of the space with the tape measure to determine how big to make the dance floor. Take a measurement of the length and width of the area and make a note on a piece of paper.

    • 2). Transfer the measurements to ¾-inch sheets of MDF. Measure and cut the MDF to the required size with the table saw.

    • 3). Measure and mark along each edge of the MDF with the tape measure. Make a mark every 12 inches with the pencil.

    • 4). Drill a ¾-inch hole on the first sheet, at each mark, with the power drill. Repeat this step for the remaining sheets of MDF.

    • 5). Insert a 1 1/2-inch dowel into the holes that you drilled in step 4. Align the dowels on one sheet with the holes on another. Connect the sheets by pushing them together. Tap on the edge of the MDF sheet with the rubber mallet to join the two sheets so they are flush.

    • 6). Repeat step 5 to connect all of the sheets of MDF to create your dance floor.
