How to Fill Canon Catridges
- 1). Put the empty print cartridge on a bed of paper towels. The ink may spill during the refilling process, so work in an area that can clean up easily in the event of drips.
- 2). Peal of the Canon sticker on the top of the cartridge.
- 3). Locate a tiny hole underneath the sticker. If you are refilling a black cartridge, there will be only one hole. Color cartridges will have three holes, one for each of the colors (cyan, magenta and yellow).
- 4). Drill each hole slightly larger with the thumb drill. The hole needs only to be large enough to accommodate your refiller syringe.
- 5). Fill the syringe that came with your ink refill kit with ink. Black cartridges will require about 20 cc of ink, while color cartridges will require about 12 cc of each color. Use the guide lines on the side of the syringe to help measure the correct amount.
- 6). Insert the syringe into the hole that you drilled into the cartridge, and very slowly begin to insert the ink.
- 7). Replace the Canon sticker over the hole to seal the cartridge.
- 8). Let the cartridge sit overnight (or for about 8 hours) to allow the sponge inside the cartridge to absorb the ink.
