- The ThinkPad 365XD had a 120-megahertz (MHz) Intel Pentium processor, 8 megabytes (MB) of memory expandable to a maximum capacity of 40 MB, and a little more than a gigabyte (GB) of hard drive space. Also included was an optical drive for playing CDs.
- The ThinkPad 365XD had an integrated video/graphics controller with up to 1 MB of memory and support for up to 800-by-600 pixels in Super Video Graphics Array (SVGA) display. Audio components mainly consisted of a sound card, a speaker and a built-in microphone.
- Only available in black and weighing a little over 6 pounds, the ThinkPad 365XD was 11.7-by-8.3-by-1.9 inches in width, length and height, respectively. Additionally, its screen measured 10.4 inches diagonally. On its sides were ports and slots, such as a VGA connector to plug in an external monitor; a PS/2 connector to hook up an external keyboard or mouse; and headphone/line-out and microphone jacks.
