The Easiest Way to Make a Web Page

    • 1). Open a Web design program such as Dreamweaver or FrontPage (see links in the Resource section) to create Web pages fairly simply. Programs like these let you enter text that will display online exactly as you typed it. But other functions within these programs can be complicated. An even simpler way to create a Web page is to employ Microsoft Word. In Word you can add pictures and text, then save the document as a Web page file.

    • 2). Save your document as an .htm or .html file. You can then open the Web page with a browser to see how it looks. Open the browser and go to the "File" menu. Choose "Open" and select your saved Web page. You'll see the file the same way it will look on the Web. Be sure to note any unintended design changes.

    • 3). Update your Web page by sending it to your site. Open an FTP program like WS FTP, CuteFTP or FreeFTP (see links in the Resource section). Enter your website user name, password and site address. The FTP program will display two windows, one with your local computer files and one with the websites files. Select the local Web page and move it into the window with the websites files.
