How do I Install Windows XP on a Sata Drive Asus Motherboard?
- 1). Check whether your motherboard uses an "nVidia" or "VIA" chipset. One easy way to tell is whether the motherboard's model name has "N" or "V" in it. "N" models are nVidia; "V" models are VIA.
- 2). Insert the floppy disk into your computer.
- 3). Open "My Computer" on your desktop and right click on the floppy disk. On most computers, the floppy disk drive is A. Select "Format" from the menu.
- 4). Select "NTFS" in the "File System" section.
- 5). Check the "Quick Format" option in the "Format Options" section and press "Okay."
- 6). Insert the CD that came with your motherboard into the computer.
- 7). Open "Drivers\SII3114" on the CD if you have an nVidia chipset and run the "makedisk.exe" program. Enter the drive letter of your floppy drive (most computers use A) and click "Extract."
